A sake brewery tour just for you

Day 01

  • JR Tokyo Station (or Haneda Airport/Narita Airport)

  • Raifuku Sake Brewery Tour

    After the brewery tour, we will visit OMI Café, located inside an old dwelling next to the brewery, to taste freshly pressed sake (guests who purchased their own sake will be able to taste their own sake!).

  • Dinner (optional)

    Saishoji Temple

    Saishoji is a historic temple of the Tendai school of Buddhism, famous for its autumn foliage.
    Guests will enjoy Japanese cuisine prepared by a famous chef invited from Tokyo and sake from the Raifuku Sake Brewery in a private room overlooking a garden at the back of the temple.
    Guests can enjoy rare sake products from Raifuku Sake Brewery, and President Fujimura will talk about the Raifuku Sake Brewery, sake brewing, and the culture and history of Chikusei City.

    Optionally, guests can also enjoy the performance of Kyo Symphony Orchestra String Quartet + A16.

    Despite having dinner at Saishoji Temple, guests will stay at Mount Tsukuba Hot Spring Ryokan “Aokiya” or “Edoya.”

    Tsukuba Hot Spring Japanese Inn “Edoya"

    “””Edoya”” is a long-established ryokan inn with more than 400 years of history, located beside Mt. Tsukuba.
    From its rooftop, guests can enjoy a night view of the Kanto Plain and Tokyo in the distance.”
    The meal will feature special dishes made with local and premium ingredients such as Hitachi Beef, accompanied by sake from Raifuku Sake Brewery.
    Guests can enjoy rare sake products from Raifuku Sake Brewery, and President Fujimura will talk about the Raifuku Sake Brewery, sake brewing, and the culture and history of Chikusei City.
    Guests will be able to enjoy the beauty of lacquer sake cups created by local lacquer artist Miho Onishi (these can be taken back home as souvenirs). After the meal, tea will be served.

Day 02

  • Morning walk at Mt. Tsukuba Shrine

    Before breakfast, in the afterglow of the sake, we will visit the adjacent Mt. Tsukuba Shrine.
    “The ancient Mt. Tsukuba Shrine enshrines the deity of Mt. Tsukuba, a sacred mountain with over 3,000 years of religious history.
    The main shrine is located at the top of the mountain, which can be reached on request. It offers a panoramic view of the Kanto area.

  • Breakfast

    For breakfast, local ingredients such as Mito natto will be served. Enjoy a nutirious meal the next morning after an evening of indulgence with sake!
    Separate dishes will be prepared for those who do not like natto or other ingredients.

  • Lacquerware: Lacquer Artist Miho Onishi

    Lacquer artist Miho Onishi trained under her father, Isao Onishi (Kyokurin), a living national treasure, and her mother, Shugaku Onishi (Kamakura-bori). As well as bowls and sake cups, she also makes brooches and other lacquer accessories as souvenirs. Visitors can also try their hand at chinkin (the technique of filling gold powder and other materials into patterns carved onto a lacquer surface) using lacquer chopsticks.

  • Kirigeta: Kirinohana Workshop

    This is the craftsmanship of three generations of Kiri (princess tree) wood artisans who have specialized in their crafts for life.
    From logging the lumber to the numerous steps involved in the production, these handmade geta (wooden sandals) are made exclusively for each guest and are comfortable to wear.

  • Lunch & Tea

    The art museum located inside The Hirosawa City was built by Kiyoshi Hirosawa, a Chikusei City businessman, with his own money. The building was designed by Kengo Kuma and the Japanese garden was crafted by Chuichi Saito!
    “A famous chef from Tokyo will be invited to prepare creative dishes to be enjoyed with sake from the Raifuku Sake Brewery.
    After the meal, tea will be served.”
    Kiyoshi Hirosawa was the owner of many works by Japanese artists, and visitors can also see Hideyoshi Toyotomi’s “Golden Tea Vase.”
    The Hirosawa City also features a transportation theme park, “Yume-no-Ba,” which can be reserved for private parties, for those who are interested.

    We can also arrange a musical performance by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra String Quartet.
    In case of inclement weather, we will prepare it indoors.
